This sounds like an amazing little indicator. I use virtualbox heavily so I could really make use of it. Running Ubuntu 11.10 currently and I don't see how I can install this.

I'm new to developing on Ubuntu and would absolutely compile this from source if I knew how. Any chance of some instructions coming out?

I've just upgraded from Ubuntu 11.04 to 12.04b2. I am seriously missing this indicator :(

Any expected release date for an updated version?

Although not fixed in indicator-virtualbox, which is now obsolete, a new version has been released, indicator-virtual-box available at https://launchpad.net/~thebernmeister.
