Bug Description

Bug report generated from Question 250018:

Hi - first, thanks for this useful applet.

This is a feature request. While there is a global show/hide all notes option in the applet drop-down, I was wondering if there is a way to show only specific notes that a user chooses. I tend to have quite a large number of notes and showing or hiding all completely covers the desktop. It would be really great if there was (for example) a list of the notes in the drop-down, and I could click on the notes I want to see/hide.

Thanks again,
Swastik.

This should be simple to implement. I don't have time, but am willing to look at a patch if anyone is interested.

Would it be enough to get a list of the notes, or would you want notes to also remember if they were hidden or not?
In other words, would you want notes to restore hide/show state on startup?
Should "show all / hide all" reset this flag?

If this feature is implemented, it would make sense for the hide/show state to be remembered. In this case, we will have to remove the property that decides if all the notes are shown or not and instead store this for each note individually. You are right, we would then need to display a list of notes somewhere (probably in a sub-menu of the indicator) so that individual hidden notes can be displayed.

That said, I want to avoid this feature as well. It seems it would go against the philosophy that this program should be simple enough that even if it were in a foreign language, you shouldn't have an extremely hard time using it.
