Can't type code when adding Google account with 2 step verification after phone is answered

Hi,
I've just got the BQ Aquarius 4.5 phone for testing and noticed the following bug...

background:
My google account requires me to type a verification code when connecting a new device to the account.
The verification comes in as a phone call.

Steps:
Screen appears to enter the code and the keyboard displays.
Then the phone rings.
I answer it and put it on speaker and switch back to the screen to type the code in.

Issue:
when i switch back, the keyboard has disappeared and will not display if I click the text box.

Workaround:
Luckily, I realized the code google supplies is the same each time it calls me so I can put the phone into flight mode, reactivate wireless and connect the account with the previous code.
