This is likely due to some change in the kernel package and specific to whatever hardware platform you are using - for debugging purposes can you please run the following command from a terminal which will automatically upload a description of your machine etc:

apport-collect 1799096

Then to get a list of all the detected sensors could you also try running:

sudo apt install lm-sensors
sensors-detect

And post the output of sensors-detect?

Hi Alex,

Thank you for you answer.

Please find attached the output of sensors-detect.

(I had done all of this and it was working fine with previous version 18.04).

Thank you.

Thanks - apologies, I asked for the wrong details - can you also post the output from 'sensors' ?

@jean-luc-botto - can you also please run 'apport-collect 1799096' which will capture the hardware specific details of your system and attach it to this bug report?

Alex,

I have run 'apport-collect 1799096' but it does not seem to work (message is "no new information has been collected").

I can also add that everything was working fine with Ubuntu 18.04.

Best Regards

I am guessing this is a change in the kernel which has caused this - to confirm you could try running 18.04 but using the Cosmic kernel via the HWE stack - https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Kernel/LTSEnablementStack

ie. to install the cosmic kernel on bionic:

 sudo apt-get install --install-recommends linux-generic-hwe-18.04 xserver-xorg-hwe-18.04
