Bug Description
The beta version no longer displays the menu monitor items on my Ubuntu 13.10.
indicator-
Recently, I have installed KDE, and later upgraded from Ubuntu 13.04 to 13.10. I found KDE to be lacking several things I'd grown used to, and had too much screen tearing to watch media on, so I've switched back to Unity. Anyway, I'm not sure which of these is the cause, but I think the upgrade to 13.10's probably the issue.
So far I've tried changing the menu items, resetting the configuration in the dconf editor, purging and reinstalling, installing versions back to 123.26.23, and compiling it myself.
The menu items do work in the stable version. Even though pretty much all the settings disappear from the dconf editor upon purging, they are somehow restored to their previous state (well, the menu items, anyway) upon reinstallation - is this supposed to happen?
I noticed that for each configured menu item, an extra few pixels of whitespace is added to the space where the monitor menu items should be. For some reason, the menu closes before a screenshot can be captured. With default settings. the menu appears like so: "Open System Monitor" <about three items worth of whitespace> "Preferences" "About" "Quit"
Can anyone else reproduce this? I only have limited software development skills as yet, but I'd be happy to work with you to debug this.
just did a fresh 13.10 install and installed the 0.4.0.xx beta. the menu is indeed not displaying the data.
i downgraded to the stable version.
i really liked 0.4.0 :(
