Mailbox icon rather than status icon shows for users that don't use evolution.

On updating to Karmic, I was a bit disappointed to see the status notifier icon switching from the useful Empathy status notification to an envelope. Given that I don't use Evolution, this is a step backwards from a useful icon to a not-useful one.

Two suggestions:
* be more careful with Evolution detection... if the user doesn't actually have accounts set up with Evolution, then don't show it in the list
* have a smarter status icon. For people who only use Empathy and not Evolution, revert to the old IM-status icons.

I realise this isn't exactly an answer, but... You do still have the option of having your status in the fast user switcher applet - especially since you no longer seem to be able to configure it otherwise!

I fixed the issue by uninstalling evolution, it would be nice now to add thunderbird instead.

I personally use claws-mail, which is miles away from evolution in concept, design and target. It would be nice to merge the features of any of claws-mail's tray-icon plugins with indicator-applet. Neverheless, I fear I'll have to ask Colin Leroy directly about it. Is indicator-applet part of upstream gnome?

@Miguel there is a DBUS api for indicator applet. I don't think its part of the desktop platform yet though - though that would be good ;).

I think this is a dup of another, similar bug but I didn't see it offhand, marking triaged-wishlist for now.
