Bug Description

When I uninstall Empathy (I am not sure if it is not a bug to empathy then, but it affects indicator-messages), status entries (see screenshot in the first comment) for global status are removed, even though I use skype-wrapper and pidgin that live in the messaging menu and can use the global status. That is obviously undesired.

That's by design: the global status menu items are not be shown if no applications are registered to use the global status [1].

Skype-wrapper and pidgin probably don't advertise that they can make use of the global status. They should have a line

  X-MessagingMenu-UsesChatSection=true

in their desktop files.

Changed in indicator-messages:
status: New → Invalid
