Bug Description
To really replace the ibus status tray menu, indicator-keyboard will also need to include ibus engine properties.
I'm attaching a screenshot of how GNOME Shell does it with Chinese (Pinyin) since it is installed by default. I don't know Chinese but for completeness, the first property toggles back and forth between Chinese and English (perhaps not needed), the second and third toggle between full and half width spacing and the fourth switches between traditional and simplified symbols. Finally, there's a link to the engine preferences dialog which allows setting many more options.
