Bug Description

When trying to run "alacarte" from the command line I get the following error.

** (alacarte:2247): CRITICAL **: menu_proxy_module_load: assertion `dbusproxy != NULL' failed
Segmentation fault

This is happening in multiple applications and it seems to be caused by the install package overriding certain library files on Ubuntu 10.04 Netbook Edition. I say this because I still get the error when I log into the normal NE. Doing an apt-get remove ubuntu-netbook-unity-default-settings does not fix the problem.

the problems seems to be related to the package appmenu-gtk, removing that package solves the problem. probably this bug is a duplicated of https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/appmenu-gtk/+bug/593474

affects: unity → indicator-appmenu
