With the DKMS provided in comment #42 of bug 1382404
it could make the Bluetooth work (tested with a Bluetooth headset)

As a workaround I built a ppa with working driver for that module. Install it this way.

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:hanipouspilot/rtlwifi
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install rtl8723au-bt-dkms linux-firmware

Verified on Vivid (3.19.0-21), this Bluetooth device does not work as well,
the DKMS provided in comment #42 of bug 1382404 can't be built on it.
Please refer to the attachment for the make error log.

Did you try DKMS from #19? It does build on 3.19.0.21.

To get it work you need to install both BT and Wi-Fi drivers from this repository.

sudo apt-get install rtlwifi-new-dkms rtl8723au-bt-dkms linux-firmware

Hi, with DKMS from #19, it looks like it could make Bluetooth partially work (be able to scan and pair a headset), but the headset is not working properly in both HSP/HFP and A2DP mode. I can't hear the test sound in A2DP mode, and it records nothing but noise in HSP/HFP mode.

Support of these devices has been recently added to bluetooth-next.

http://git.kernel.org/cgit/linux/kernel/git/bluetooth/bluetooth-next.git/commit/drivers/bluetooth/btusb.c?id=a2698a9bf9b0cfcf7e556946e04c4456a13a6f5a

If you have the hardware (I do not), it makes sense to report it to Daniel Drake and Marcel Holtmann to debug.

This workaround solve bluetooth bug as a interim as long as driver isn't implement into dkms kernel.

Download rtl8723au_bt-master from GitHub, than open terminal and do

make
sudo make install

After restart bluetooth works
