Bug Description

[TestCase]:
(Problem)
Go to your Desktop or some empty directory then,
1) Right-Click > Create Document > Empty File,
2) Do it a couple of times,
You'll notice that the created files will be named as the following:
new file
new file (copy)
new file (another copy)
new file (3rd copy)
new file (4th copy)
new file (99th copy)
and so on......
This model of naming causes confusion, specially if the user tries to find the file quickly.
Also, if these files got listed in an descending alphabetical order, they will be listed as the following:
new file
new file (3rd copy)
new file (4th copy)
new file ( 99th copy)
new file (another copy)
new file (copy)
Thus the user will find his second-created file the end last one and the third-created file before last, which is against the original creation order and breaks the main usage of the arrangement features.

(Suggested Fix)
We can avoid this by simply using something like the following model:
New File
New File(1)
New File (10)
New File (100)
and so on......

Thanks a lot for taking the time to report this, however I am unable reproduce the behaviour you describe. When I follow the sets outlined in the original report, I get files with the following names:

untitled document
untitled document 2
untitled document 3
untitled document 4
untitled document 5
...
and so on

Judging from the date of the original report, it seems this was happing under Gnome 2.x, but as of the 11.10 release, Ubuntu is running Gnome 3.x, where it seems this issue has been resolved. Can you please confirm whether or not you are still experiencing the behaviour you originally described?

This is fixed for creating new documents but still needs to be fixed for copy and paste. Please see my comments upstream for more information.
