Overview ________ Zanshin is a simple task organizing application available for use in the Linux Operating System. The application provides users with the ability to categorize daily activities, phone numbers and other important information. Once installed, the user is able to insert a task with a date into the TODO list.The Zanshin interface is user-friendly and easy to understand. Installation ____________ The Zanshin application is available for download via the Synaptic Package Manager, Located under the Administration tab on the Linux Gnome desktop. If you do not have a dual Gnome/KDE desktop, you may want to install it first. Instructions on how to install the dual server is provided below under the Important Note section. To download the Zanshin application: 1. Go to the Synaptic Package Manager. 2. Type the keyword: "Zanshin" into the Quick Search field. 3. Check the box next to the Zanshin download option. 4. Click the Apply Button. 5. Follow the screen prompts. 6. Restart the system. Enjoy Zanshin!!! Important Note: _______________ If the system complains about a missing server application. You will need to also download the KDE desktop server. This is due to a dependency issue. Installation: 1. Simply go to your terminal window and type the command: apt-get install kubuntu-desktop 2. Restart the system. The Zanshin application is now available (located) for use on the KDE desktop under the Application tab.From the apps tab : Go to the Utilities tab and scroll down to select Zanshin. Documentation ______________ The Zanshin TODO application has many helpful features. The following information will provide a brief overview of the available tools in the application. - Main Screen The Main Screen has a simple taskbar with four drop down tabs. 1. File Tab - allows the user to create and remove a new folder, new project or new action. 2. Go Tab - allows the user to select the screen view and view the projects (tasks). The screen views consist of two dynamic views (Project View and Context View). 3. Settings Tab - allows the user the ability to configure the toolbars and shortcuts of the application. 4. Help Tab - provides information about Zanshin. New Action button - Used to insert new tasks. These options are available under the Project View. INBOX folder - all the tasks are placed in this general folder. Library Folder - allows the user to create a custom folder, specifically for a new task. These options are available under the Context View. - Subfolders are available to organize the tasks into a custom (specific folder). Folders - Computer, Errands, Home, Office and Phone Folder.
