Incorrect category for package: ttfm in software-center

software-center (Ubuntu)

Bug Description

So how to reproduce the bug.

Go to software center, categories, fonts.

Last package will be ttfm, which is a graphical file manager, not a font.

I'm using Ubuntu 10.04 with latest updates, couldn't find any other report of this bug.

It should be on the same category as other file managers like nautilus or thunar.

ttfm is only present in fonts category!
Nautilus is in the System Category , while Thunar is in the Accessories category!

It turns out to be due to incorrect categorization in SC:

Quoting mpt, The problem arises because,of how the current fonts category works: "if a package starts with 'ttf', put it in Fonts", and ttfm got caught up. It would be a relatively simple fix for someone to change the Fonts category so that instead it contains only the packages that have "Section: fonts".

ttfm still shows up in "Fonts" for me in trunk r953, even after running "sudo PYTHONPATH=. python utils/update-software-center".

Kiwinote (kiwinote) wrote :

mpt: running s-c straight from a bzr branch parses the systemwide s-c menu (that does still display ttfm), rather than the local s-c menu (that I modified). Installing s-c 2.1.6 via a deb file should solve this.
