Running UNR 9.10
I open my computer on battery power and begin surfing the internet in Firefox
After a few minutes of browsing the internet, a message box appears. It says simply
'You are running on battery power. Do you still want to continue?'
There is no indication that this message has anything to do with update manager. I think this is part of firefox - I click yes.
There are two solutions to this problem:
1) Give some indication that this message is from the update manager. It should also say what it wants to do, and why doing this on battery power is a bad idea.
2 (the far more intelligent solution) - Don't try to run update manager automatically if I'm running on battery power! At some point I'm going to have to plug back in, ask me when I'm charging! If you're already encouraging me to question whether or not I should do this while running on battery power, why even ask me at all?! |
