Bug Description
Binary package hint: gdm
In Karmic, upon choosing a user and entering an incorrect password, GDM currently displays the text "Authentication failure".
This is a piece of text that unnecessarily reveals technical implementation details of what happened under the hood, yet falls short of informing the user of what exactly she did wrong (typed a wrong username or password).
The Ubuntu 9.04 counterpart, "Incorrect username or password. Letters must be typed in the correct case." is a better alternative.
