Bug Description
GNOME 2.28 now disables all icons in buttons. Many users complain about that fact because they liked the standard look with icons.
You can always activate the disabled icons by using "gconf-editor" or "gconftool-2", but this is not an option for a normal or unexperienced user. There should be an option in the interface-dialog of GNOME-Control-
P.S. :
I added a patch to include the new toggle-box. It was just copying and pasting some lines of code. There is no translation, but the patch works.

This is a feature request (yes, even if the change solely provides a toggle an /existing feature/, it can still be considered a feature itself).
Furthermore, if a checkbox were added to easily re-enable every nontrivial interface change to the core desktop stack over the years, we'd be drowning in them by now.
