Bug Description

When Desktop Effects are enabled, window titlebars frequently become visually corrupt - they take on a weird white "ghosted" appearance and/or disappear entirely, but then look correct when moused over (but only as long as the mouse is held over the titlebar, or in some cases over particular decorations - for example, the close button may be garbled unless moused over).

This is too big of a fix to be considered a paper cut.

Can you please attach some screenshots of what you're describing?

David, I'm at the office so the only Ubuntu machines I have available are headless - but when I get home I will certainly attach one.

I'm amazed I couldn't find an analog to this bug, I hear A LOT of complaints about it.

Hi.

Does this bug still affect newer versions of compiz?

Also, did this machine use nvidia? There was an old bug with the 170 version drivers that may have been the cause.

I haven't seen this bug since updating to Oneiric, although TBH I've spent most of my time in LXDE so I'm not sure if I *would* see it or not. I did spend a couple of weeks using Unity before I got fed up and went LXDE, though, and I did not see the bug repeated there.

The machines in question are all nvidia, yes.

I'm going to mark this as a duplicate of that ancient bug -- it surely seems to be the same bug.

If it does indeed show up again it would probably be better to report a new bug.

Thanks!
