full screen apps broken in jaunty - background flickers by from time to time

Bug Description
Affects package: compiz (probably)
Problem:
When compiz is activated any program in full screen mode will flicker the background image from time to time.
Example 1: a movie is played in full screen mode in totem. Wait until the small progress bar in the bottom and the mouse disappear. Then move your mouse. Before the progress bar reappears there is a short while where only the background image of your desktop is visible.
Example 2: run firefox in full screen mode (press F11). Right click om any item. Before the right click menu is visible there is again a short period of time where only the background image is visible.
This problem appeared first in Jaunty and affects booth Nvidia and AMD cards as far as I can tell.
