Bug Description

Binary package hint: nautilus

When you unmount a removable volume from nautilus, it shows the contents of /media. Since for most users there is not much to be seen there, it would be more usefult to show their home instead.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better.
As mentioned in the upstream bug report, We already fixed this for Lucid to redirect to Computer instead of /media. Which was fixed as bug 386517 and so this bug is being marked as a duplicate of bug 386517.

I would say this is not a duplicate but a sequel of that bug.

Redirecting to Computer does not seem such a good fix because:
- It exposes the filesystem even more
- It is very unlikely that you want to continue working in Computer because there normally is:
  - CD/DVD Drive (which you haven’t used in months)
  - Filesystem (…)
  - USB Drive (the one you probably just ejected)

Redirecting to one’s home folder is a much more sensible and useful solution.
