unclutter makes me feel better, since it remedies the main problem of visual obfuscation.
As little as the problem may be, it is gone, not perfectly, not consistently, not even natively patched, but as a user i already can say thanks.

i'd suggest to put some effort into WM-based solutions. No, this is not a feature request, no, toolkits, X or the respective single applications can not solve the problem by themselves, since its scale exceeds their respective areas.
