Bug Description

First of all this is my first bug report and I really don't know what information to include, so feel free to ask for more.

background:
I have upgraded to Ubuntu 16.04 a few days ago before that I had 14.04 which I decided to update to 16.04 after I had some problems with my graphics drivers and this seemed like an easy way out.

problem:
I now tried to use an IDE and when I use either eclipse or netbeans when creating a new java project the IDE hangs becoming unresponsive.

Attempted solutions that did not work:
I have ensured that I installed java versions
openjdk version "1.8.0_03-internal"
OpenJDK Runtime Environment (build 1.8.0_03-internal-b15)
OpenJDK 64-Bit Server VM (build 25.03-b15, mixed mode)
and tried to get a fresh install netbeans from the apt-get repository and downloaded mars 1 again. Neither worked.

Sorry if this information is not yet that useful, not really that used towards bug reports for linux yet.
