Bug Description

HOW TO REPRODUCE
- Upgrade from Ubuntu 14.04 to 14.10.
- In the Unity dash, search for the phrase "system settings".

EXPECTED BEHAVIOUR
- The desktop system settings to appear.

The "gnome-control-center" package does not seem to be installed although there are some folders to do with it on my system, but I only know that from searching in "Computer" for "gnome-control-center".

When typing it in in command-line I get this response (without double-quotes):
"
The program 'gnome-control-center' is currently not installed. You can install it by typing:
sudo apt-get install gnome-control-center
"

When searching for "gnome-control-center" in "Computer" these are the result: gnome-control-center_search_results.bmp

Also, when I go into the dash and search for "System Settings" and then I right-click on the one that is not meant to be there, I get a screenshot now of the proper one, but when I open it I still get the phone settings (as shown in System_Settings_Phone.bmp ). So when I right-click on it now it looks like this: System_Settings_New_Details.bmp

This bug happened to me to and I know that the fix for this bug is removing certain package, but I don't remember what it was. I'm going to ask the bug squat if they know.

Regards.

Yes it obviously has been installed somehow (although not by me so there must be a bug somewhere) as this was the output for that command:

apt-cache rdepends ubuntu-system-settings
will show a list of packages you may have installed that brought it in, fr example if you has tried with unity-desktop-next

It is benign to have it installed and you could remove it if you want.

it's not a bug in the system-settings if something is installing it, that would be a bug in whatever has the recommends/depends pulling it in. What happens if you try to uninstall ubuntu-system-settings? Is anything else uninstalled?
