Bug Description
The sync menu appears only when any applications are registered to use it.
Currently it appears most of the time, because Ubuntu One is registered to use it.
For many people this may not be interesting. They may want to hide the menu all the time, or show it only when Ubuntu One is actually syncing.
Therefore, I suggest the Ubuntu One Control panel include, at the bottom, a toggle for whether/when to show the menu. This could be a checkbox:
[/] Show Ubuntu One status in the menu bar
Or a radio menu:
Show Ubuntu One status in the menu bar: [Always :^]
<https:/
From discussion with Robert Grant: People may want to be reassured that Ubuntu One is running when they log in, even if normally they do not want the menu to be present. If "Only when syncing" was selected, It could appear for the first few seconds after log in, and thereafter appear only during syncs.
