Bug Description

The first step in the hugin workflow is to open the files that you want to stitch.

I would like to be able to drag-and-drop them from the Finder instead of selecting them in the "Load files" popup.

Both drag-and-drop to the "Assistant" tab and to the hugin icon in the dock should be functional.

Drag and drop is already implemented.
Maybe there are some Mac OS specific quirks. Please test and report back. Set status to new again then.

Drag and drop as described above indeed doesn't work in the Assistant tab on OS X.

However, it does work in the second (Images) tab: the list area accepts dropping image files on it. So this is a (non intuitive) workaround.

So for the OS X build (whoever is willing and able to do that in the future) we'd probably need an "active" area that accepts images to be dropped on it.

Another valid approach would be to let the program icon accept image files to be dropped on it:
- if application is closed or already open with a new, empty project -> add images
- if an open project already contains images ask user if new files should be added to current project or save current pto and start new project with these files.

Please note that there seems (or seemed) to be a bug when dragging directly from within iPhoto into hugin:

drag and drop for images is gone in hugin-mac-2012.1.0.6152, sigh.
I tried simple and advanced mode, but neither the images table nor the Fast Preview accepts my JPGs that I drag there from the Finder. Mac OS X 10.6.8

It works in 2012.0.0

Sigh, it works here on Windows.
For the panorama editor there is already Mac specific code for drag and drop support in place. For the fast preview window the code for drag and drop was not touched during overhauling the GUI. I don't understand why it does not work. But this seems to be Mac specific problem.

Yeah, I already thought that this was the case. Some glitch in the build process for Mac maybe?

Still an open issue on Mac:

2014.0.0-beta1 built by Matthieu DESILE / Mac OS X 10.6.8

drag&drop images from Finder into Hugin still doesn't work on OS X, I'd at least expect it in the file list of the "Photos" tab (Advanced/Expert mode) or in the "Assistant" tab of the Simple mode.

No feedback. So assuming it is fixed in current version.
