Sorry, I can't apply the file in current state.
When merging your file with the existing fr.po file I get a new fr.merged.po (msgmerge -o fr.merged.po fr.new.po fr.po) which includes too much translations:
msgfmt -c --statistics fr.merged.po
1642 translated messages, 7 fuzzy translations.

But it should contain about 1550 messages.

So in your editing there are some bugs. (E.g. I noticed you removed all unused string. Please leave them in the file. They can still be used as a template for new translations. )

Please rework the translation file.

Hi,

It is strange...
I've got the latest fresh copy of the hg repository.

Then I do the following:
- cd ./src/translations
- ./extract-messages.sg (with *my* translation in the directory)
[which does the msgmerge]
- msgfmt -c --statistics fr.po
1550 messages traduits.

If I do the same with the translation from the repository; I get:
msgfmt -c --statistics fr.po
1535 messages traduits, 7 traductions approximatives, 8 messages non traduits.

If I do the things the same way as you, I got the same problem...

Then I tried and other way:
- I copy MY translation in the directory
- msgmerge -U fr.po hugin.pot
- msgfmt -c --statistics fr.po .... and I get the right 1550
translated messages.

There seems to bee something wrong. But I'm 99;9% sure it is not with
my traduction.whith is inline with the hugin.pot created by your
extract-messages.sh script.

Regards

Jean-Luc

Okay, managed to merge the translations.
The main problem was that *you* removed all unused translations from your file. This confused msgmerge when merging with the old version which still have these unused entries.
Please leave the unused entries in the po file.
As further cause - as already written - they can also be used as starting point for new translations.

Ok, I will avoid to remove obsolete templates..
With tools like lokalize it can be automatically deleted but if the project
is correctly configured, the memory translation keep trace of old ones.

Anyway, msgmerge -o has a strange behaviour which is not consistent with
msgmerge -U

Thanks and Regards
