Hugin 2013.0.0 crashes in Windows 8.1

Windows 8.1

Hugin worked flawlessly until, I think, my operating system did an update. After that, Hugin will load and accept the first image, but adding a second image causes a Windows program crash message, attempts to find a fix, then it needs to be terminated.

I've tried going advanced and expert to see if it was merely the simple interface, but it crashes the same way every time.

Also tried uninstalling, then reinstalling to no avail

I just downloaded and installed 2014.0 over the weekend.I'll test it out and report.
