Bug Description

Greeting and thanks for the support;

I am currently using bsd. The problems persists accross debian, ubuntu, and fedora. As a test protocol I installed windows with the hp driver and it works perfectly, indicating a problem with hplip or its set-up. Not only does printing pause persistently the print is often unintelligible.

Here is the requested information:

Note: hp-check can be run in three modes:
1. Compile-time check mode (-c or --compile): Use this mode before compiling the
HPLIP supplied tarball (.tar.gz or .run) to determine if the proper dependencies
are installed to successfully compile HPLIP.
2. Run-time check mode (-r or --run): Use this mode to determine if a distro
supplied package (.deb, .rpm, etc) or an already built HPLIP supplied tarball
has the proper dependencies installed to successfully run.
3. Both compile- and run-time check mode (-b or --both) (Default): This mode
will check both of the above cases (both compile- and run-time dependencies).

Done.

I can furnish the cups error log if needed. If there is an hplip log I would be glad to submit it.

Hi,

Thanks for the logs. From the logs following 2 things are found.

1) Some of the dependencies like PIL are missing. please install them.

2) hp-ijs ppd is selected while creating a print queue (HP Deskjet 1000 j110 Series hpijs, 3.12.2). Please remove the print queue (with system-config-printer command) and add again by selecting hpcups ppd(with hp-setup command).

Sanjay,

Thank you very much for helping. As it stands the printer is now doing the
same error on windows too. It looks like I have to buy a new printer. A all
in one so I can use the dependencies you asked me to install. As far as ppd
files go the are only the hpijs available on bsd unix using hp-setup.

Best regards,

Mike
