Bug Description
HPLIP version - 3.11.12, DMV - 15(Qt4), OS - Ubuntu 11.10, Linux Kernel 3.0.0-14-generic
This is a new bug report based on #906840. If you read the old #906840 thread (was 3.10.11), then the reason for this bug report should become apparent.
Anyway, as the summary suggests, printing on an HP Laserjet P1005 is really unreliable. On first install, printing seems to work fine. But after a while it just stops, and to get the printer working again, the printer has to be removed from Ubuntu's printer list, re-added and then a system restart is required.
I've added the last two hp-check.log files from the previous bug report (#906840).
NOTE - Hopefully, by starting this new bug report, Launchpad won't distribute to the person who objected to receiving the #906840 reports. I don't know if he's subscribed to Launchpad, whether a genuine mistake has occurred, but the shouty and confrontational responses I am getting are becoming stressful. If however, the problem persists whereby someone is getting emails when he/she doesn't want them, can someone please help me resolve the problem or just simply remove me from Launchpad and I'll try to resolve my problems elsewhere or simply buy a new printer that works with Ubuntu. I don't know why someone keeps shouting at me when all I am doing is requesting help and support on getting a printer working through Launchpad.
Thanks in advance
