Bug Description

For a long time I have not upgraded hplip to 3.* because I noticed that hp-clean did not work with newer version on my printer.
Now I'm using hplip 3.11.5 in gentoo linux with the printer HP Photosmart D5160. Almost all functions works, except for hp-clean. The applications starts corretly, and the debug output doesn't display any error, simply the printer does'n perform the cleaning, it just print the check page.

Thanks,
Filippo

Hi,

I tried installing manually the lastest version, but although it compile and install fine it doesn't work in the gentoo
environment as is.
So I installed the lastest 3.11.7 with the gentoo package manager, and I confirm that the issue is the same.
