OJ 8500A -Ubuntu 10.10 No Duplex on Latest HPLIP

As the current official Ubuntu HPLIP is 3.10.6, does not recognise my OfficeJet Pro 8500 A910, I have fully uninstalled HPLIP as per instructions:

and installed 3.11.5.

The printer sets up OK (although setup want's Python 2.3 for Fax) All the duplex options are available through the GUI:

Installable Options: - Duplex Installed - check
Media Size: A4 AutoDuplex
Double sided printing: Long Edge

The options remain setable in a document's print dialog but final printing is one-sided.

At some point CUPS printed it's own test page from Ubuntu which was double sided.

Win XP is printing 2 sides without problem
