HP PhotoSmart Pro B8800 series: Borderless not available on page sizes larger than Legal

Bug #787580 reported by Till Kamppeter on 2011-05-24

Bug Description

With the standard PPD for the HP PhotoSmart Pro B8800 series there are no ".FB" (borderless) page size selections for all sizes larger than Legal. The hardware supports borderless on all sizes though. If I use the PPD file for the PhotoSmart b8500 series with my Pro B8800 I can print borderless on all paper sizes without problem.

The problem can be easily fixed by moving the affected printers from the "<%DJGenericVIP:LargeFormatSuperB%>" section to the "<%Python:LargeFormatA3:NoAutoDuplex%>" in the .drv files. A new section needs to be created for the printers which are duplex-capable.

I have done all testing with the hpcups driver. Probably the same problem is present for hpijs. Please check. HPLIP is version 3.11.1 as shipping with Ubuntu Natty.

For the developers at HP: Attached is the patch which I have applied to the Ubuntu package. Note that the patch fixes the problem only for the PhotoSmart Pro B83xx and B88xx printers. Please check whether there are also other printers suffering the problem.
