Bug Description

Although my user was already added to lpadmin group I received this error for quite a while.

debug modus returned then this: hp-setup[3880]: debug: addPrinter() returned (0, Unable to connect to CUPS server)

Probably the main problem for 99% of the user is a non-added user to the group but it also can have other causes. In my case a wrong configurated /etc/cups/client.conf was the problem. The error message is confusing as it is not returning that the actual problem was, that a connection to cups server couldn't be established.

I would suggest to change the wording to:
Printer queue setup failed. Could not connect to cups server. Is user added to "lpadmin" group(s)?

Or something like this. It is reflecting the actual problem and giving a hint to the most common problem.

Thanks for providing this information. We will do the required changes.
Note: Ubuntu Proactively adding user to "lpadmin" from Ubuntu 11.04.

Thanks,
Naga Samrat Chowdary, Narla
