Bug Description

I am not able to add certain files to the »Select Files to Send« dialog. Adding them by opening them or printing them does not work. I can only reproduce this with certain files. This PNG file is a scan with XSane. But I tried to create a blank test file, i. e. scanning with no document in there, and this files works. So I do not know what is causing this. Converting this to a JPEG with `convert` does also do *not* do the trick.

Other PNG files can be added without any problem.

The other strange thing is that printing these files to the FAX printer does also *not* work. But I guess the file is just passed on.

The following error message is shown, when I try to add the faulty file.

ERROR:dbus.connection:Unable to set arguments ('hpfax:/net/Photosmart_2600_series?ip=10.10.10.10', 'joe', None) according to signature None: <type 'exceptions.TypeError'>: Don't know how which D-Bus type to use to encode type "NoneType"
 Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "/usr/share/hplip/ui4/sendfaxdialog.py", line 919, in CheckTimer_timeout
    self.service.CheckForWaitingFax(self.device_uri, prop.username, self.last_job_id)
File "/usr/lib/pymodules/python2.6/dbus/proxies.py", line 140, in __call__
    **keywords)
  File "/usr/lib/pymodules/python2.6/dbus/connection.py", line 620, in call_blocking
    message.append(signature=signature, *args)
TypeError: Don't know how which D-Bus type to use to encode type "NoneType"

I can reproduce this with `hplip-gui` `3.10.9-1` from Debian experimental and `3.10.6-1.1`.

Mr Paul can you attach the png files as an attachment here. We will see what is happening behind the scenes.

How does the filename looks like from files you are not able to fax?
Perhaps something similiar to https://bugs.launchpad.net/hplip/+bug/875211 , which is marked as a duplicate of https://bugs.launchpad.net/hplip/+bug/850346 which was fixed in hplip pacakge 3.11.12 .
