Bug Description

It reports an error message on startup:

$ hp-toolbox

HP Device Manager ver. 15.0

warning: Qt/PyQt 4 initialization failed.
error: hp-toolbox requires GUI support. Exiting.

Installing python-qt4-dbus enabled it to run. Please add this as a dependency.

hp-check reports this:

-----------------------------
...
error: 22 errors and/or warnings.

Summary of needed commands to run to satisfy missing dependencies:
sudo aptitude install --assume-yes libsnmp-dev
sudo aptitude install --assume-yes python-qt4
sudo aptitude install --assume-yes python-qt4-dbus
sudo aptitude install --assume-yes python-reportlab
sudo aptitude install --assume-yes libsane-dev
-----------------------------

In my opinion, these should be added to the dependency list.

To run HPLIP in graphical mode you need to install hplip-gui (not hplip).

HPLIP runs on servers/command line too, that's why it's not setup graphically when installing only the hplip package.

So, marking invalid.

Changed in hplip (Ubuntu):
status: New → Invalid
