I really don't know, like you I chose the printer because it was supposed to
have full support. Right now I'm using my girlfriends machine with the
printer shared trough samba. I was thinking of installing a virtual machine
with WinXP or some kind of remote desktop with my gf's machine to make
things easier. I don't print that much anyway and I had
other priorities last couple of weeks. Maybe You or I should send an email
on HPLIP dev list if there is such a thing. I don't think threatening to
switch back to The Borg is going to make anybody look into this, but asking
politely might yield some results. It just looks like the problem is that
nobody seems to be aware of this bug for some reason.
