Bug Description

Using Ubuntu 9.10 with hp laserjet 2430dtn, unable to configure hplip driver to work (Device communication error 5012.) Can print test page. Printer can print "hp LaserJet 2430 printers" self-diagnosis sheets, so the printer is ready.

It is Ubuntu 9.04 and the database lists 2430 but not 2430dtn, so that may be a possible cause of the problem, the fact that it is a network printer; I do have a router but I did not select the network option when setting it up.

Do you think if I try using a static IP address, that might work?

After hooking up my 2430dtn, when I try to add printer using hp-setup, it finds the printer in step 2, but when I get to step 3 (Add Printer) the error message is:

Unable to print to printer. Please check device and try again.
