Bug Description
HPLIP 3.9.4b self install and tarball
the self install hplip is bugged :
- I haven't a Xorg on my printing server and it ask me for a gnome-terminal, thus it fails
- It complain to ask for libcupsys-dev, and on debian lenny this package is libcupsys2-dev
- Everything is ok during configuration but during compilation there is one error on the self install (check the log)
the tarball is also bugged :
there is a line with 0 0, in the file "vi prnt/hpijs/
I am very disappointed by this, we had to install X11 to install a printer, we have to debbug a tarball, and after that there is also a big mistake in the source code... And to complete the paint I need a hplip's version lesser than the one you propose but upper than the one available in lenny (for my HP COLOR LaserJet 1015).
It gets on my nerve I spent 4 hours to get the scanner working and it doen't
And for god sake why can't I install this driver in console mode? And why can't I just install the scanner's driver, the rest is ok with cups...

I did some modifications to the archive but i don't know how to list them, so this is the whole bunch :
- some include where missing
- libcupsys-dev is replaced by libcupsimage-dev on lenny...
- One include is missing in libcupsimage-dev raster.h files, can't remember wich
thus this installs, but you need to do certains things, like hp-check, hp-setup, and install the plugin direct from source, because an option -i is given wich is not implemented in the plugin installation script... so you have to dwnld the installation plugin and tell it to not destroy the dir, and then launch a install script inside without the -i things...
Frankly never see a such bugged driver's package... Thus this crap is the only way to make a hp 1015 working, thought I ran nuts...
