Bug Description

hi. ive MASSIVE Problems to get my HP LaserJet 4250dtn working with CUPS!!

If i installed that printer/queue to cups using the webinterface i can print the CUPS Testpage with default values. Testpages says its printed at 600x600dpi - But printer properties in CUPS displays 1200dpi fastres !! however.. the printer does not crash.

if i change the resolution parameter within cups to something different like 600dpi or 1200pro, printing the cups test page will NOT PRINT and printer is "crashing" with some wierd error message in its LCD telling me to switch off and on power of the printer.
Printer LCD displays: ERROR 49 60FF - this also is shown in printer event log via web interface of the internal printserver module.

with " lpoptions -l -p queuename " i found out that the resolution option there is shown 1200x600dpi INDEPENDEND of what setting i do in the cups webinterface! on the text console it always stays at 1200x600dpi. Is that correct ?!?!

mostly any other ppd file i found for this printer will fail printing anything. printer usualy crashes also if tried to print with a windows XP using CUPS spooler/queue and using the latest windows xp printer package from HP for this printer.

im courious how someone can say "this printer works perfectly with cups" since i cannot subscribe that. pretty much no ppd of the linuxprinting.org / openprinting , HPLIP and whatever ppd for the 4250dtn show similar results. either no printing, mission printer-options or printer is crashing.

Can someone help me pls showing me how to setup this printer AND a queue so Linux AND others can print using this CUPS queue ?! im pretty much lost after WEEKS or investigating and trying..
