Bug Description

I installed new clean PC with Kubuntu 8.04.1 LTS and all updates. I use the device HP PSC-750. HPLIP seems to be the version 2.8.2 as can be found also here - http://packages.ubuntu.com/search?keywords=hplip&searchon=names&suite=hardy&section=all

First problem: When I print out something, then last rows are not printet out. I tried to print out using OpenOffice.org 3.0.0, KPDF. Quite often there are MS Office documents sent by e-mail. A4 format is used.

Second problem is, that Fast Mode is not working when I choose it by pressing appropriate button on the device panel - Quality-->Fast as shown here - http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/bpu02246.pdf
Earlier time under Kubuntu 6.06.1 LTS it worked.

Now is scanning working, which were not earlier time.

Third problem: But sometimes Kooka and/or HPLIP control panel telling me, that it cannot find scanner. Then I just close HPLIP control panel and try open it again and then it works. Sometimes there is necessary to restart service. But I cannot give this instruction to simple user - do restart to service using command line and then I have to give also root permissions to regular user...

I tried also to read http://hplipopensource.com/hplip-web/install/installtree.html and http://hplipopensource.com/hplip-web/release_notes.html but did not understand, does the new version 2.8.10 solve those problems. Should I remove previous version of HPLIP or does it remove itself as I see here - http://hplipopensource.com/hplip-web/install/install/index.html

Shall I follow instructions here - http://hplipopensource.com/hplip-web/install/manual/distros/ubuntu.html
... or these instructions - http://hplipopensource.com/hplip-web/install/install/index.html - this seems to be more comfortable and seems to be making all required actions. Certainly, if there is suggested to do it manually as first tutorial tells, then I choose it...

Please try with the latest version of HPLIP.

If you still have a problem run hp-check -t and post the output.

Thanks!

Aaron
