Bug Description
I am not able to print multiple page documents in landscape mode on the HP OfficeJet J6480 from Linux.
When I try to print a multiple page document in landscape mode, the printer will only print the first page and it will then hang. The screen on the printer displays "Printing ...". After waiting at least 15 - 20 minutes, I cancel the print job on my PC (using either CUPs or the HP Toolbox). The printer screen then displays "Print Canceled". When I click the printer's "OK" button, it then displays "Busy ...". After this, I'm unable to print anything else to the printer and I have to reboot the printer so that it will print again.
Additional info:
The printer is connected to my network via an Ethernet cable. I have assigned it a static IP address. I have been printing to the printer in portrait mode for several months without problems. I only recently tried printing something in landscape mode and that's when I discovered the problem.
I am running Mandriva Linux 2008.1 on both my HP laptop and my Dell PC. On the laptop, I have the HPLIP driver that comes with Mandriva 2008.1 (v2.8.2). On the PC, I have installed the latest version of the HPLIP driver (v2.8.12). I get the same results when printing from either version of the driver on either the laptop or the PC.
Troubleshooting :
As I mentioned, I've never run into a problem when I print documents in portrait mode. In fact, I can successfully print all pages of a document in portrait mode, but when I print that same document in landscape mode, it will only print the first page and then the printer will hang as described above. Note that this happens consistently, regardless of what application I print from (OpenOffice Calc, Adobe Reader, etc).
