Bug Description

Like described in HPLIP question #49770 i have the same problem since i upgraded to intrepid. Under 8.04 it works fine.

It seems that everything is working expect printing (so scanning, status and all other functions are working).

The only thing i get is the following line in /var/log/user.log
Dec 25 14:39:43 guetli Photosmart_C6100_series?ip=192.168.34.5: io/hpmud/jd.c 511: timeout write_channel hp:/net/Photosmart_C6100_series?ip=192.168.34.5

On the windows machine on the same wlan, printing works fine.

I've got the same problem with HP Photosmart C7280 All-in-One printer, fax, copier, scanner when printing from Ubuntu 8.04.1.

The problem exists only if I use WLAN. Printing over wire works just fine. In both cases printer uses WLAN.

I've tried to use wireshark for diagnose WLAN problem, but I cannot see anything wrong nor I'm network guru. Running hp backend under GDB also looks fine, ie it really waits 45 sec before declaring timeout. Netstat shows 8192 bytes in sending queue.

I can ping the printer on WLAN. I can connect to it on WLAN using telnet at port 9100 and it will try to print my input, although it is garbage of course.

Please help.

Waldemar

This is an old bug and Intrepid is no longer supported, please upgrade to a supported release.
