2023-07-02 17:47:57 Karl Weber description The file hp-laserjet_p2055_series-ps.ppd has changed from hplip version 3.20.11 to 3.21.10. My printer is a P2022dn, my environment is openSUSE leap and I am printing with CUPS over the network on P2022dn. In openSUSE leap 15.3 everything worked well, in openSUSE 15.5 printing on P2022dn does no longer work. openSUSE 15.3 was using hplip 3.20.11, openSUSE 15.5 uses hplip 3.21.10. The change in hp-laserjet_p2055_series-ps.ppd is as follows: diff hp-laserjet_p2055_series-ps.ppd hplip-3.20.11/prnt/ps/hp-laserjet_p2055_series-ps.ppd 208c208 < *HPEconoMode True/On: "%%" --- > *HPEconoMode True/On: "@PJL SET ECONOMODE=ON<0A>" 225c225 < *HPEconoMode False/Off: "%%" --- > *HPEconoMode False/Off: "@PJL SET ECONOMODE=OFF<0A>" 3550d3549 < What happens? With hplip 3.21.10 I can print exactly one document after the printer has been switched on and the linux box booted. When I try to print the second document, the printer prints the PS file as text file and does not interpret the PS instructions. I have to switch off the printer, switch it on again, remove the paper jam and restart cups. Then I can print one other document. Very sad. Resorting to the old ppd file from hplip 3.20.11 and everything works fine again. The file hp-laserjet_p2055_series-ps.ppd has changed from hplip version 3.20.11 to 3.21.10.
