Bug Description

I've installed HPLIP 3.20.10 but have the following problems with this printer (on multiple 20.04 systems on the same network):

* when trying to scan with sane, lots of normal scanner noises but ADF does not feed the doc. "COPY" function on the printer panel works fine with ADF.

* xsane reports errors and does not perform scan.

* printing works.

* installing 3.20.10 required changing/creating the symlink in /usr/bin/python --> ./python3

* hplip setup (autostarted by hplip.run) doesn't see networked printer, but if I manually input the IP addr. it works.

* scanning function worked beautifully on my 20.04 machines with ubuntu's version of HPLIP on an older printer (HP Office jet pro 9020). If the ink carriage of that printer hadn't jammed, I would still be up and running with the old all-in-one).

Note: hp-check can be run in three modes:
1. Compile-time check mode (-c or --compile): Use this mode before compiling the HPLIP supplied tarball (.tar.gz or .run) to determine if
the proper dependencies are installed to successfully compile HPLIP.
2. Run-time check mode (-r or --run): Use this mode to determine if a distro supplied package (.deb, .rpm, etc) or an already built HPLIP
supplied tarball has the proper dependencies installed to successfully run.
3. Both compile- and run-time check mode (-b or --both) (Default): This mode will check both of the above cases (both compile- and run-time
dependencies).

Check types:
a. EXTERNALDEP - External Dependencies
b. GENERALDEP - General Dependencies (required both at compile and run time)
c. COMPILEDEP - Compile time Dependencies
d. [All are run-time checks]

Status Types:
