Bug Description
Steps to reproduce:
1. Have Ubuntu installed with common desktop environment (many of them ship deb-packaged hplip as dependency or recommendation).
2. Have modern HP-printer which is not supported by deb-packaged hplip version
3. Download binary HPLIP distribution:
wget https:/
sh hplip-3.18.6.run
4. Wait setup to finish.
5. Run `debsums -c -s` on the system to test its integrity.
Expected behavior:
* Binary hplip installer respects package manager. It removes hplip-related deb-packages automatically on package level (not file level).
Actual results:
* Binary hplip installer does not respect package manager. It removes hplip-related parts on file level, confusing package manager and breaking the whole Ubuntu system. See console outputs on AskUbuntu in questions https:/
Notes:
1. Currently we have correct guide for 16.04 LTS and 18.04 LTS here ( https:/
2. Many users love HP products, but do not have enough experience in GNU/Linux and/or Ubuntu. So you should include automatic deb-package unistallation into binary hplip installer.

If anyone bought or downloaded Linux Mint 19 it will not work because grub
is missing from the program. The error message says grub missing, will not
boot. If you are having trouble with 19 booting return it, it won't boot.
