Bug Description
with Linux Mint 18.2 Mate edition - multifonction PSC 1510 - hplip 3.17.10
the PSC 1510 model is reported to work well since hplip 3.13.8 i think.
excuse me, i did not note the error messages and i've already given the computer back, but i found fast no information on this bug and the different anomalies in the logs - it was on a packard bell desktop (Pentium Dual Core + 3 go DDR2 PC2-5300)
hplip 3.17.10 - automatic script does not complete correctly - "general error" - and hplip is not detected when trying to reinstall - the printing part is working but not the scanner part (PSC1510 appears and works in LM Printer Menu) - the scanner is detected by sane-find-scanner but not in graphic mode by simple-scan or xsane and so i'm not able to have it working. Simple-scan detected that there were driver to install but did not manage to perform the installation.
the solution / workaround for me was to purge the hplip install trough something like:
sudo apt-get remove --purge hplip
and install the 3.17.9 version
whose automatic script completed correctly, from :
https:/
in LM18.2, i had hplip-3.16.3 installed before and i think there might be a problem for its removal...
excuse-me for my bad english and the lacks of information on logs, but it's my first bug report. next time, i'll give more details on "error messages".
