.run file does not clean up

Bug Description

I installed the latest release hplip-3.17.10 as of today and it turns out that it produces too much leftover files in the local folder.

What's more, the .run file explicitly prompt when I attempted to install it as super user, while after I install it as myself, it left a folder as root! so I had to sudo in order to completely clean up the leftovers.

It would be nice if the installer can keep things local, for example, some new folder in /tmp folder so that it does not require manual cleanup.

Hi,
Can you specify the folder name (and contents) which got created by the installer? We will check and update.
Also do mention the distro details where you are trying the installer file.

Thanks,
Pranav
