Bug Description

I recently bought a HP 1102w laser printer, I tried to install and configure it trough HPLIP 3.17.4 on my Ubuntu 16.04 linux box, but unfortunately I couldn't achieve it.
I connected the printer with the USB cable, I opened a terminal and ran hp-wificonfig, but all the times I tried it I had to wait for a couple of minutes and finally I received always the same error message: "error 404 file not found".
On my linux box I have Virtualbox running Windows XP, so I installed the software from the cd included in the printer package in Windows XP, I connected the printer to XP via USB and in a few seconds I configured my wireless printer.
I ran hp-doctor and the only warning I found was this:
warning: Failed to read /etc/cups/ppd/HP_LJ_P1102w.ppd ppd file

Note: hp-check can be run in three modes:
1. Compile-time check mode (-c or --compile): Use this mode before compiling the HPLIP supplied tarball (.tar.gz or .run) to determine
if the proper dependencies are installed to successfully compile HPLIP.
2. Run-time check mode (-r or --run): Use this mode to determine if a distro supplied package (.deb, .rpm, etc) or an already built
HPLIP supplied tarball has the proper dependencies installed to successfully run.
3. Both compile- and run-time check mode (-b or --both) (Default): This mode will check both of the above cases (both compile- and
run-time dependencies).

Check types:
a. EXTERNALDEP - External Dependencies
b. GENERALDEP - General Dependencies (required both at compile and run time)
c. COMPILEDEP - Compile time Dependencies
d. [All are run-time checks]

Perhaps missing access rights.
What is the output of

sudo ls -l /etc/cups/ppd/Deskjet_3520.ppd
groups

If the ppd file is group-owned by "lp", but you are not member of the "lp" group, then you have to add yourself to that group.

Thx a lot for your answer.
The ppd file is not the problem, I can manage it, the real problem I want to remark is that hplip wasn't able to configure the wireless connection of the printer.
