Bug Description

HP-Systray always reports a Network Printer as being "Device is busy, powered down, or unplugged" if the printer has been set to "Always use HTTPS when connecting to the printer's embedded Web server."

The Hp-systray appears to be unable to handle the "HTTP/1.1 301 Permanently Moved" repsone when attempting HTTP Requests:
GET /DevMgmt/MediaHandlingDyn.xml
GET /DevMgmt/ConsumableConfigDyn.xml

If I turn off the "Always use HTTPS when connecting to the printer's embedded Web server", the Status for the printer is returned HP-SYSTRAY and the printer is listed as online.

related question which you asked : https://answers.launchpad.net/hplip/+question/293780

I am working in an office where the administrator has configured the printer to https enforced, I cannot change it. So, this bug is very annoying and sad.

I believe it may not be due to certs, but that it does not support redirect/https at all
