Bug Description

Hello,

printing DIN A6 documents from Openoffice.org doesn't work. Some time ago I posted about this issue, but it seems that this still doesn't work. I tried to print out A6 documents with Laserjet 3330 MFP, Laserjet 2065dn and a Laserjet 3055 MFP and it all cases the was not correct.

Once again a short description of the problem:
I created a document with page size A6 in OO Writer. The printout of this document is incomplete. I tried to investigate this problem and came to the following:

The printer places the A6 document as follows:

XXXOO
XXXOO
XXXOO
OOOOO
OOOOO

(X denotes the A6 part of the document, the O indicate an A4 page)

Since the A6 paper is centered in the tray this implies that only the last column of the X is printed.

The A6 document should be printed as follows:

OXXXO
OXXXO
OXXXO
OOOOO
OOOOO

What papersize is selected in the hp-toolbox?

Run hp-toolbox, click the printer, click print settings and make sure that the papersize is A6 and then try and print.

If this doesn't work run hp-check -t and post the output.

Thanks.

Aaron

Hi,

I have the same problem when printing a pdf document created with latex.

Printer is a Lj 1320

It seems to me that the problem appeares as soon as the driver tries to rotate the printed document, for example:

Document is in landscaped A6 in the PDF and the driver has selected scale and rotate or scale the output to the selected Format (A6 Landscape)

However the Postscript driver is working but let the printer somehow freeze after the print.

I will do an hp-check -t later when I am at home. :)

Hi,

this bug still exists in 2019. It affects page size a6 and c6.
Also creating custom paper size with a6 / c6 / Hagaki 100x148mm fail with same error.

Workaround for me is using predefined paper size Hagaki 100x148mm.

hp-check tells cups not installed, but it is installed.
I use debian sid
uname -a
Linux debian 5.2.0-3-amd64 #1 SMP Debian 5.2.17-1 (2019-09-26) x86_64 GNU/Linux

Any fix is appreciated, it takes hours for me to find this issue.
