If it shows conflict that means certain combinations of print options you selected are invalid.
Please check the options

How can I tell which options conflict? I have gone through all the options but nothing stands out.

Thanks

Josh

Just select "PaperType" as something else (plain) and check.

I tried changing the paper type to plain but the warning still shows and duplex doesn't work.

Hi Josh,

By default duplex unit is set as "off" in the printer ppd file. You would have to set it "on" to avoid the conflicts.

Please follow the below setups to do the same:
1. Open firefox browser.
2. Type URL as "localhost:631"
3. Click on the "printer" tab, followed by selecting the print queue.
4. In Administration drop down select "Set Default Options".
5. Click on "options installed" and set "Duplex Unit" to "on" and click "set default options" button.

Please let us know if this helps to resolve the issue.

Thanks,
Kritika

This workaround from Kritika A (1. Open firefox browser .....) succeeded on my Ubuntu 16.04 system, on my HP M281 printer, which i installed with the standard install script that i got at at hp.com . Possibly HP can improve the install script? but idk.
